The severe weather risk has been removed from the forecast for the Northeastern U.S.. Areas of the Northeast did see large hail and damaging winds. The heavy rain threat will continue through Sunday across the Northeast and that means a risk for some flash flooding.

We currently don't have a severe weather outlook for Sunday, but areas along the coast of North Carolina and Massachusetts (Cape and the Islands) could see a few severe storms early Sunday.

Rainfall totals could surpass 2-4 inches in a few areas, posing the threat for localized flooding. A marginal to slight risk for flooding has been issued by the Weather Prediction Center (WPC).

WeatherNation will have more updates online and on-air.
